Lisa, who emigrated to England for work, lives with her husband and her dog Cassie. They are her support network. Originally from South Africa, Lisa found herself on the streets of Johannesburg and destitute. She was not able to secure a job as a trans woman. After her transition, she felt she was able to be open about being trans, and came out publicly in the press whilst working as a glamour model.
The film is part of the Patchwork Stories series that looks at the lives of transgender people of all ages and backgrounds around the UK. The series was commissioned by All About Trans and produced by Lucky Tooth Films in collaboration with Channel 4.
